Dave was a great guy. Nice, smart, funny- so funny. Everyone loved his jokes and I loved how he laughed when I joked right back with him. I only got to know Dave for a little over a year but from the first time I met him I just liked the guy. He was cooking and joking around. He was the best cook- an amazing baker too. My kids would request Dave’s cookies and desserts bc they knew how good they always were. I am so grateful for the time I did have to get to know Dave and that my kids got the chance to know him too. The last time I saw him he was so excited that I had gotten engaged to his son Adam and was making wedding plans and talking about the future and I couldn’t help getting excited about all the times we would have together - holidays, barbecues, just spending time with this awesome family. And if he can make that big of an impact on me in a year I can only imagine what an impact he had on his kids - Shirelle, Jeff, and Adam. The way his kids love him- god they loved him so much and it kills me to see how they are hurting right now. and you could tell how he loved his kids too and that will show just shows what a great person he really was. no one got enough time with him but we are so lucky for the time we did have with him -long or short.
