Donald Joseph Nierenhausen was born on 03/13/1933. He passed away on January 19, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with congestive heart failure. Better known as Ron Don, he was preceded in death by his forever love Nancy, who he was married to for 52 years, parents; Frank and Sophie Nierenhausen and brother, Jim.

Survived by son, Ron Nierenhausen(Yvette); daughter, Nanette O’Connor; son, Wayne Nierenhausen(Erin); grandchildren, Lynn, Michael, Sandra, Jackie, Alex, Adam, Carley, Joshua and Shawn; great-grandchildren; BreeAnna, Will, Emma & Logan.

Ron Don fought in the Korean Conflict and was very proud to serve his country. He loved all sports, and would tell you that he could be a more effective Coach then any one of them, on any team! He loved playing pull-tabs, win or lose, we would always go $40 more, or roll our winnings!

He and Nancy built their “dream house” on the 7th Tee on a golf course in Casa Grande, AZ. They truly loved that home and were so proud to show it off! Don was known as “the guy that lived off the 7th Tee, who often times would strike up a conversation with golfers playing through, and in turn, they would end up with a Bloody Mary to finish their round!

Special Thank you to Dr. Kamalesh Pillai, United St Paul Heart and Dr. Syed Hasan for all the care they provided over the years. And of course, his Hospice Nurse Cindy Walsh, who has been there with us every step of the way! Thank you!

A Celebration of his Life will be held on Tuesday, January 28th from 4 pm to 7 pm at Mueller Memorial-White Bear Lake, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave, with a memorial service following at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
