Obituary for Donald Anton "Tony" Strachota

Strachota, Donald “Tony”, 57, of St. Paul passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021. He was preceded in death by his goddaughter, Jenna; stepdad, Myron; and uncle, Wayne. He is survived by his children, Matt and Lizzie; former spouse, Heather; significant other, Amanda; mom, Sharran; dad, Don (Janelle); siblings, Shelly (LeRoy) and Greg (Denise); niece and nephews, Joey, Michael (Lizzie), and Kaitlyn (Jordan); great niece and nephew, Alexis and Jackson; and many other family and friends.
Tony was a dedicated worker for 33 years at MSS as a Direct Support Professional. He had a huge love and great care for all the people he worked with there. Tony also had a love for all sports. He would play softball for various bar leagues and would always take every opportunity to attend his children and nieces and nephew’s games and events. Unfortunately for some of his family, he was also a huge Packer’s fan. He enjoyed antiquing and could be known as a “hoarder” and was a WWII buff. Tony was a prankster and joker who had a giving and loving heart. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor and pleasure to know him.
A gathering will be held from 12 PM to 3 PM on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Mueller Memorial- St. Paul, 835 Johnson Parkway, with a time for anyone who would want to share memories or stories at 2:30 PM. Following the gathering, a celebration of life will take place at Sgt. Peppers, 930 Helena Ave N, Oakdale, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred in Tony’s honor to MSS, 900 Ocean St., St. Paul, 55106.
