Obituary for Georgia Jewell Kelm

Kelm, Georgia
Born July 10, 1934 in Clear Lake, Wisconsin to George O. and Minnie Holliday Jewell. Preceded in death by parents, George and Minnie Jewell; brother, Ralph Jewell. Georgia is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, David Charles Kelm; sister, Gretchen Pulley; children, Gwendolynn J. Lentsch, Davida G. Kummer, Todd Lowell Kelm, Kimberly Ann Pulley, and Craig Holliday Kelm; grandchildren, Lisa, Adam, Chad, Lacie, Crystal, Amy, Jill, David, Paula, Billie Jo, Anna, and Nellie; great-grandchildren, Lucy, Charlie, Chase, Aria, Callen, Curtis, Lily, Mikayla, Maddie, Owen, Ashlyn, Norah, Logan, Brayden, Avery, Olive, Hunter, Jaxson and Abram.
Georgia had a very active part in the organizing committee for the 80th Street overpass in Cottage Grove, getting over 15,000 signatures with the population in Cottage Grove being 20,000 in 1979. Georgia met with Governor Al Quie and secretary of Transportation, Braun. After several meetings the overpass was approved and broke ground in 1980. She retired from 25 years of service from Gillette MFG. and was a Master Gardener and president of the Pine Ridge Garden Club of Cottage Grove in South Washington County. She was an active member at the Hamline Methodist Church and helped organize Christmas tea’s and volunteered her services at Hamline dining hall at the Minnesota State Fair.
Funeral Service 11AM on Friday, January 3rd at Mueller Memorial, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake. Visitation 4-7PM on Thursday, January 2nd at Mueller Memorial and also 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Friday. Burial in Clear Lake, Wisconsin.
