Anyone who has met or known Gwen would say she was a very special and strong woman. That German blood really gave Lewy-Body Dementia a good fight, overcoming her prognosis by a long shot. However, LBD is a formidable diagnosis and over the years we lost bits and pieces (pun intended) of what made Gwen, Gwen (or Grammy). Having been a staple of the Minnesota (and national, even international) Museum and Art scene for 40+ years, one wonders if Gwen will now get to meet some of the greats – the people whose art she single-handedly guarded in cargo holds and moving vans across the globe. Her imprint and contributions to the field of museum registration even lent to her receiving American Association of Museum’s Registrar Award of Distinction in 2010. When not working as “a leading registrar globally” (a real quote), Gwen was a mother and a Grammy, unafraid to get down to the Disney Classics with full living room choreography. Perhaps first on her list is an overdue reunion with the family who went before her, as she was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, survived by two others, along with daughter (“Rob”) Robyn, grandson (“sweetie pie”) Logan, and faithful guard cat (“Nessie”) Nessa, who was with her to see her to the other side.
