Message to the Family: Sad to hear about Joan’s passing. I always admired her passion for her work and her commitment to serve veterans. She was a joy to be around and could be counted on to speak her mind and speak it straight. I smile now just thinking about her. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends. Her spirit will live on in the lives of everyone who knew her and we are all the better for it.

Message to the Family: Joanie was a great person! She made a big difference at the VA. She helped many of us and was a pillar for good everywhere she went.

Message to the Family: Joan was an amazing coworker and mentor. She was an incredible asset for the Department of Veterans Affairs, and always put the needs of her clients first. She taught me how to be a firebrand and how to get things done, despite obstacles and hurdles. The word "no" was never in her vocabulary. Her work helped to ensure that our nations Veterans received the best possible care. While she didn't do it alone, she deserves to be remembered as someone whose energy, passion, expertise, and professionalism positively benefitted everything that she did. The world needs more people like Joanie..... she will be truly missed.
