Marlene V. Anderson, of Stillwater, MN, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on August 8th. Marlene thoroughly enjoyed her 82 years of life!
Marlene was born in St. Paul to Leonard and Madeline Johnson. She was joined in marriage to Kenneth Anderson in 1959. They raised their two children, Susan and Kenneth, in White Bear Lake.
Marlene worked for the Minnesota Department of Military Affairs for 40 years.
Ken passed away in 1998. In 2000, Marlene met Dale Curtis of Stillwater and the two became loving companions for the remainder of her years.
Marlene loved traveling with Dale, spending 10 years wintering in Florida, taking trips to Hawaii, and spending time at the cabin with family and friends at Sugar Lake. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and taking her kids and grandkids on vacation.
Marlene is survived by Dale, her children, Sue (Al) Kutz, and Ken (Kathy) Anderson. Marlene loved and was proud of her 6 grandchildren, Maleah (Matt) Knigge, Thomas Kutz, Chad (Taylor) Anderson, Andrew (Courtney) Kutz, Teagan (Dale) Emberson, Michael Kutz, & her 2 great grandchildren, Maija Knigge and Remy Emberson. She is also survived by her brother, Robert (Patricia) Johnson, her nephews, Steve and Jeff Johnson, her niece, Karen Johnson, & Dale’s children, Lynette (Mike) Diethert, Kim (John) Sandahl, Randy (Sandy Norden) Curtis, and their families.

Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on August 8, 2019. Preceded in death by husband Kenneth and parents Leonard & Madeline Johnson. Survived by her loving companion Dale Curtis; children Susan Kutz (Allen) and Ken (Kathy); 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother Robert Johnson (Patricia) and Dale’s family. Marlene retired after 40 years with MN Dept. of Military Affairs. Service Saturday, August 17th at 2:00 pm at MUELLER MEMORIAL, 4738 Bald Eagle Avenue, White Bear Lake with a celebration gathering to follow until 5:00 pm. Memorials preferred to the American Lung Association.
