Paul James Mader
Age 84
Paul went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 4, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Conrade and Gertrude; sister, Beverly Slater; and brother, John. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jan; his beloved daughters, Karyn (Keith) Kienholz and Kristin (Frederick) Johnson; his adoring grandsons, Alex and Nick Kienholz; step-grandchildren, Gracia and Bryce Johnson; sisters, Dorothy (Vern) Mayer and Marie; siblings-in-law, George Slater, and Larry, Irene, Bev, and Ann Faffler; and he was loved by many nieces and nephews. Paul served his country as an Army Sergeant and served his Lord faithfully. He loved capturing God’s creation in photographing animals (especially eagles, birds, flowers, and sunsets). Paul was an awesome husband, father, and grandfather. He lived a life of kindness towards all and he will be missed dearly. His family is grateful for the loving care he received at Regions Hospital, especially from Dr. Jahagirdar, Bethesda and Carondelet Center. Funeral service at 11AM on Friday, August 10, 2018 at MUELLER MEMORIAL, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul, with visitation from 10-11AM. Interment and military honors at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Union Gospel Mission or the Salvation Army.
