Rose Gabriella Cockriel (Norton) passed away peacefully early on September 20th, 2021 at the age of 93. She was born to Vincent and Ann Norton in the Highwood neighborhood of St Paul on September 28, 1927. Rosella was raised on the family farm playing with her siblings, Patricia, Helen, James and Thomas. It was a safe and loving environment that took her through the “war years”. Her brother Jim left high school early to join the Marine Corps. She was so proud of him that she did her 11th grade book report on Jim and the military and received a AA on the report. Rosella graduated from Harding High School in St Paul in 1945. She went on to attend St Catherine’s College in St Paul until she met and married the love of her life, Bill Cockriel, a recent World War II veteran. With that love, they raised their seven children: Keith, Vince, Connie, Bobby, Ronald and the twins, Jim and John. Rosella always set an extra place at the dinner table for friends and neighborhood kids. Rosella was loving and caring and never had a bad word for anyone. She was very active in her church. She also enjoyed her gardens, her birds and watching the abundant wildlife in her yard. But nothing brought her more joy than the daily visits and phone calls from her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Rosella is blessed to be survived by her sister Helen, son Vince (Cindy), daughter Connie (Kevin), son Bob (Bonnie), son Ronald (Jeanne), son Jim (Jean) and son John (Barb), daughter in law Betty and 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren (and counting). She is proceeded in death by her parents, Vincent and Ann, her husband of 53 years, William, her eldest son, Keith, her sister Pat and her husband Tom, her brother Jim and wife Gerry, her brother Tom and wife Shirley.

She was loved, treasured and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
