Our families were and still are great neighbors to each other. We'd often drop by on the way home so our moms could have coffee and visit. When Sally was learning to drive, somehow the car got away from her and went through the side of my grandparent's house. Many years later, when my brother was remodeling that house, we saw the spot that had been repaired. Thank goodness for all our fun memories!

Sometimes death strikes quickly, without any warning.

Sometimes we can see it coming from a ways off.

I'm not sure which is easier.

Sally knew that her days were numbered. In recent conversations that the two of us had, she as much as said so. It had become a great struggle for her to breathe as her congestive heart failure worsened. Sally knew that it might not be long before the Lord took her. Despite her deteriorating health, Sally remained herself. She could talk your ear off! She continued to show her concern for Roger and her church family.

I will miss Sally's smile and her laugh.

Sally trusted in the Lord and in his promises. She has joined the people of God who await the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting, through Jesus Christ, her Savior.

Rest in peace, Sally
